Artist Statement

My work is my pleasure. Everything else seems to be a distraction from the opportunity to fall into that meditative trance that marks when I’m doing something I enjoy. My goal in each project is to develop something to a point where I can no longer recognize that my own hand was at work – that the strokes and edits are hidden from me. I aspire to build a body of work that I can reflecting upon and enjoy. I hope the work conveys a playfulness and sense of humor.

My favorite tools are vector based animation applications like Flash and Toon Boom. I love the work flow of Toon Boom for animation development and I love the power that Flash grants to interact with the viewer/user.

For the most part my projects have been commercial communication pieces but lately I’ve been working on creating more animations that tell stories that I hope will engage the imagination of the viewer.
I have a B.S. in Mathematics from UT Arlington as well as some extra skoolin’ at UNT where I did graduate studies in Biology.
